In the spring of 2010, while digging in the basement of a Silicon Valley mascot consignment store, I stumbled upon an incredible find. There, crumpled into a ball in the deepest corner of the basement was a pile of men's clothing with a complicated story. Although the wrinkled, discarded pile still smelled faintly of butler, there was no indication that this suit was special.

Then I looked in the pockets, and found what the previous owner had left behind — and suddenly I realized whose jacket I was holding. Buried deep in the breast pocket, hidden among IAC business cards and a few AOL diskettes, was a tarnished, forgotten, but still perfectly functional search engine, built with the kind of craftsmanship you don't see anymore. I crumpled the whole pile back up, took it to the counter, and bought it for $1.25. The grey ponytailed man behind the counter gave me a knowing nod as I walked out the door.

I took the suit home, cleaned and pressed it, and shined up the search engine. The result is Ask Sleeves.
